Hi Jimbo,

I don't often go to the beach, summer is tooooo hot  But when I go, I go to the Ritz Carlton private beach. Very nice, clean. Also if you have childeren it's very safe. At the Ritz Carlton they have a sort of bay, it's like a lake. On there website you can view photos (http://www.ritzcarlton.com/en/Propertie ... efault.htm)

If you are not a Ritz Carlton guest, you have to pay to get in. It's about 10BD.

Bahrain doesn't really have beaches allthough they are starting to build beaches more now.

The seawater is pretty warm, especially in summer time it's like going into a warm bath and so not very refreshing. If you want refreshing, you better put your Airco up.

That would be a great achievement if you could stay in the sea water and turn up the AC at the same time. :D :D

I agree with Jacky, not many beaches in Bahrain. A friend of mine has a place on Amwaj Island and he has his private beach, I sometimes go there. Nice to have a swim in the sea and then jump into his pool and get all the nasty salt of.

Amwaj Island sounds like a nice place to visit. Are there any hotels or resorts on that island?

Not that I know of. Just luxury apartments and villas.

Here is a page with information about Amwaj Islands

I've just check out the link you given, wow, they are 5 star class of hotel in Bahrain, I can't afford to stay there a night, but for sure that I will take a tour to the place and the beach as well. Might catch up something nice there :)

You should try to look at some online travel sites as you can often find much cheaper rates there then on the hotels own website.
